Unbelievable: The liberal PC police are now going after Thomas the Tank Engine

We’ve grown accustomed to senseless liberal logic insinuating that anything that has to do with the color spectrum is somehow racist or racially charged, however; the most recent attack by The Guardian filth-spiller, Tracy van Slyke, is so stupid it just made me chuckle.

Check out what she said about the demonic Thomas the Tank Engine.

From The Guardian:

For the record, all the “villains” on Thomas and Friends are the dirty diesel engines. I’d like to think there was a good environmental message in there, but when the good engines pump out white smoke and the bad engines pump out black smoke – and they are all pumping out smoke – it’s not hard to make the leap into the race territory.

As a kid I watched Thomas all the time, I had a life-sized Thomas and a play board for all the trains to travel around on. I loved trains. That’s why I loved the show. The characters and the plots also instilled a message of friendship and hard work, but racism? Ms. van Slyke must be inhaling some of that racist steam she is ranting about.

More idiotic PC that is only ruining this country.

I try not to let these folks make me angry anymore, but with trash like this, it is truly hard. The goofiest thing I have ever heard. What a tool…scratch that, tools have a use….

  • Michael Tippit

    “liberal logic” is an oxymoron

  • GT-Water-Snake

The author had a life-sized Thomas? Really?
Anyway, it takes a special sort of person to find race in smoke.

    • Wilda Kerney

So I guess they are racist when they use black smoke for no Pope and white smoke for we have a Pope? LOL

    • Servo1969

When you’re a hammer everything looks like a nail.

  • Elizabeth

Um….does she know that diesel engines actually do give off black smoke? Like that is reality……a place you won’t find many liberals

    • Robert Nabors

      libs cant handle sensible logic

  • Bob

Isn’t it steam? So no, miss journalist, it is not white smoke.

  • Scooter Tramp

This is BEYOND LUDICROUS!!!!!! What’s next? Westerns? White hats vs black hats?

At this point we should just start betting what liberals will label racist/sexist/homophobic next. My money is on Spongebob.

  • Brandon Smith

Can China just come over and take control? This would be such a smarter place.

  • redeemedbytheblood

There has and will always be a sense of Good and evil that tires to darkness and lightness. Or (white smoke, black smoke) out has nothing to do with the pigment or the ethnicity of a certain gender. Wonder how they interpret the Ying Yang symbol

  • Kimmode K

Oh this is hilarious. The ignorance in this “article” is so stunningly stupid that it passes for satire. That “white smoke” is noy smoke at all, it is steam! Mavis is a black engine who is good and also female. It must be a sad to live with the author of this article’s mindset, always seeing imaginary subversive racism and white devils everywhere.
My young child watched Thomas and learned his colors and numbers and other things and turned out gifted, the author’s child will watch Thomas and turn out as paranoid as his mother, with the ability to blame every disappointment in life on racism.

  • excavatorperson

give it a break you hidious racist no good for anything liberal B*&%#, leave the childrens things alone.

  • TazErase

You can find a message in nearly every movie IF you are looking to find a message to suit your purpose. Let’s take for example Star Wars, my favorite movie. Although I know it’s not true, I could turn it around to all the WHITE stormtroopers serving their BLACK Lord, and Master, Vader. That’s just 1 simple example using the first movie that came to mind, should I want to find a form of racism in a movie. EVERY movie can be switched around to form a liberal viewpoint

  • JP01

She also doesn’t get symbolism apparently; the good guys wear white, the bad guys wear black. That’s not racism…maybe she should take a college course or two. I live in California and went to college in California and even with the copious amounts of liberalism everywhere, they taught about symbolism in literature and art.

  • Philip Bingman

Sigmund Freud once said sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. In this light smoke is just smoke. Now go sit in the corner and smoke whatever you were smoking when this moronic idea entered your mind.

  • Philip Bingman

Oh and by the way then I would guess that in your mind Tracy since a bus puts out black smoke that the bus is racist.

  • Andrew James Hammack

Liberals are peddling hard to invent a problem with a children’s show that teaches personal responsibility and work are good things!

  • 2smartforlibs

Why is it that liberals always see things by color. Diesel is oil therefor it burns black, the white smoke is from coal. The point is the only jumping of conclusions you can do is to liberal idiocracy .

  • Meh meh meh meh meh

Uh… Typically, light has been seen as good and darkness as bad. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with race. Liberals are insane.

  • yesoh mevo

For the record, that’s not steam coming out the smokestack of the coal-burning locomotives, that’s smoke. The steam is released out of the cylinders that turn the wheels. The shade of the smoke depends on what is being burned, coal (and there are different qualities of coal), wood, or oil. Look up “Lighting up a steam loco” on You Tube to see how it works.

Wait! The first Mr. Conductor was Ringo Starr, one of the original “hippies”!!!! How can they be hating on that!?!?!?!

  • Guest

My son born in 1995 loved watching Thomas. He is 19 now, and has several friends of different race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Apparently he understood the obvious steam engine vs. diesel smoke and other train realities; and is lucky the “subversive messages” from Thomas did not make him prejudice as he grew up. Also, strange Ms. van Slyke, that if the show truly was for pushing submersive symbolisms, why would three outspoken liberal/libertarian leaning figures (Ringo Starr, Alec Baldwin and George Carlin) condone/support such symbolism by acting as the narrator/conductor on the show, and say nothing about the not agree with the symbolismss.

Methinks van Slyke’s inner racist doth protest too much.

  • Rod

I have news for Ms. van Slyke. Black smoke: BAD! White smoke: GOOD! And that’s not a racist comment. Black smoke indicates poor burning and lots of unburned particulate matter entering the atmosphere. White smoke indicates mostly steam, with few unburned particulates and pollutants entering the atmosphere. One of the reasons leftists use photoshop is to turn innocent white steam into nasty black smoke, in fact.

Facts aren’t racist, no matter how geared you are to looking for racism under every rock. Grow up Ms. van Slyke.

And I don’t care if you’re white, black, brown, yellow, or green, Ms. van Slyke. You’re an idiot regardless of your skin color. That’s also true if you’re really Mr. van Slyke or even if you once were Mr. van Slyke, or if you someday aspire to being Mr. van Slyke. It’s your mind that makes you an idiot, Ms. van Slyke, not your skin color or your sexual orientation…your mind.

  • Bongo Bob

If she had the slightest idea of how things work, she would realize that the “white smoke” is steam – water vapor.

  • jplaist002

didn’t ANYBODY watch cowboy westerns in the old days? Didn’t common sense dictate good guys wore the white hats and bad guys wore the black hats. that made it easier to figure out which was which. Guess we weren’t very smart back then

  • ShipwreckLo

Science…it’s….science. Black smoke means you’ve got trouble.

  • Londontear

Whatever! From the dawn of time, the black/white dichotomy has been used to discuss the good/evil dichotomy, by everybody from the Christians and movie producers to the Freemasons and Taoists (albeit to describe the speaker’s own views on the subject). Didn’t they pick up on that fact? That’s not necessarily racist.
